This unique three-dimensional decorative fiber art is sculpted using the ancient hand felting technique—employing only agitation, water, soap, and hand-selected sustainable natural fibers such as Merino wool, Tussah silk, flax, and silk cocoons. The piece’s intricate texture and detail are achieved by shaping, layering, and fusing hand-dyed fibers into a richly tactile and durable surface.
 
Each artwork is individually crafted by Jeanne Akita, making it truly one of a kind.
Thanks to the natural antistatic properties of wool, the artwork requires minimal maintenance and does not need to be covered. A light pass with a feather duster once a year is typically sufficient to keep it pristine.
